Interview conducted by Alan Cherry as part of the LDS Afro-American Oral History Project by the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University on 2 March 1988. Susan Walker discusses her early life in Selma, Alabama, her father's experiences in the civil rights movement, family stories about slavery, move to Chicago, Illinois, courtship and marriage, conversion to the Mormon Church, and her life as a Mormon.
